As the truth is stranger than fiction:
"Sharp and supremely confident, a veritable Doogie Howser" - Forbes
"A Silicon Valley pro" - Time
"Strapping, articulate" - Premiere
"An Internet elder statesman" - the Wall St. Journal
"Newman epitomizes the light-speed nature of the Net" - Entrepreneur

Joshua serves as CEO of Cyan Pictures, an innovative indie film studio.
He also runs CrossFit NYC, a fast-growing maverick group-training gym.
Back when it was the cool thing to do, Joshua helped start some high tech companies: Sharkbyte, a database software company that primarily worked with financial institutions to create back-end trading systems, and Powerdime.com, a web-based loyalty marketing company that (on a marketing budget of less than $10k) became the 104th largest site on the Internet before being acquired.
Joshua also served as Managing Partner of the Silicon Ivy Venture Fund, a seed-stage technology venture capital firm that invested in student-driven startups, as Senior Technology Analyst for the Gerson Lehrman Group, and as a producer for De Niro's TriBeCa Films and Comedy Central.
Joshua plays the trumpet around New York City in a variety of jazz and classical groups, writes inane articles for this site and a handful of print publications, and drinks heavily.
He graduated from Yale University with a dual BS in Neuroscience and Computer Science. Joshua currently lives in Hell's Kitchen with his fiancee Jessica, and is 28 years old.
